Shawnee Mission South is excited to announce and welcome Mr. Mark Rice as the new Head Volleyball Coach and Art teacher at Shawnee Mission South High School. Coach Rice comes to us from Lee’s Summit West High School. Coach Rice has 20 years of head coaching experience, and a tremendous career resume.

  • 4 years as Northwest High School HC
  • A 426-175-7 Career Record
  • 7 Conference Championships
  • 12 District Championships
  • 5 Sectional Championships
  • 4 Final 4 Appearances (2nd [2008, 2010], and 3rd)
  • State Champion in 2007.

Coach Rice is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State, and holds his master’s degree in teaching from Webster University.
