A limited squad traveled to SMNW for a Spring Break competition with SMW, SME, SMS, & SMNW. Despite the small number of competitors, the Raiders had a great afternoon. Kirsten Womack continued her winning ways in the Shot Put and Discus events by winning both events. Womack tossed the disc 126′ 4″ to establish a new PR, which put her at #3 in the state of Kansas.
In the Javelin, the Raiders had event champs in both the girls and the boys event. Chloe Cox had a great series of throws with a best of 111′ 3″ to take the top spot. Brett Conner tossed the spear 150′ 5″ to win the event on the boys side. SMSTF also had double champions in the High Jump. Lily Kovalcik set a new personal best with a leap of 4′ 4″ over the bar. Mile Macklin cleared 5′ 6″ to win with a new PR. Abrina Maere improved her best time by over a half second in the 300m Hurdles to win the event with a time of 52.67.
The boys Spring Medley Relay team of Alexander Phan, Eyan Appleman, Miles Macklin, and Kieron Smith ran extremely well and won the event with a time of 1:38.79.
Other athletes establishing new personal bests were the following: Blake Cikot (high jump), Kyle Gelhaus (long jump), Marianna Perez (discus), and Evan Allison (javelin).
